The worst is almost over

The past two years have been nothing but misery for most parts of the world due  to the deadly coronavirus. Families lost friends and their loved ones. Businesses lost income and some were forced to closedown or lay off employees in order to stay in business.

The number of infected people continued to rise day after day. People were dying and hospitals couldn’t contain the spread of the virus as well as the number of patients coming in. Masks seemed not to be doing any justice to the situation.

Thankfully, vaccines came to the rescue. Although Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson, came with side effects, some countries were able to curb the spread of the virus through the vaccine and hope was restored.

A few months later, restrictions were eased, wearing masks in some public areas was not mandatory, certain parts of the country were now open to the public, restaurants were ready to welcome customers again, a new year indeed.

The virus deprived people of what we call freedom and happiness. Festivals, clubs, concerts, and gatherings bring out the joy in people. Enjoying a delicious meal at a restaurant was what people longed for and taking a walk felt like luxury which only certain people could afford. A mere mask was a lifesaver and an entry pass to any public area.

It is sad to learn that people are still dying from coronavirus to this date. Therefore fighting the deadly coronavirus  could take months or years.
